A substantial part of the cost of producing these products is the metal or plastic mop holder that attaches to the mop pole. Whereas the cotton or cloths strands that are responsible for cleaning do eventually ware out, the mop holder will normally remain intact.
Throwing away a component of the mop that is in a perfectly good state is of course a waste of money and has an adverse effect on the environment.
On reflection it's difficult to understand why this wasteful process has been allowed to continue for so long. Thankfully there is now an alternative that allows for the worn out strands to be thrown away while still retaining the mop holder.
The disposable part of the mop is simply unclipped and thrown away and new mop head attached, the whole process takes less than 10 seconds.
These new mops will fit tradditional mop handles and offer substantial saving to the end user. In these difficult finacial times this new innovation gives contractors an opportunity to not only make substantial saving but also boost the their environmental credentials.
